Here we go… another random person’s blog. Let me tell you why I decided to write a blog. The first blog I have ever written by the way and probably the last. There are two main reasons why I decided to venture down this path, first the fact that I am going to be a father in less than one month, and second my best friend is cycling through Thailand at the moment on his own. Keeping a regular and interesting blog, this has inspired me to follow suit.
Anyway, long story short my wife is 9 months pregnant (36 weeks) and my life is about to change… so I’ve heard. People never hesitate to tell you all the scary and negative anecdotes of having a child irrespective of it’s effect on the future parents. I have read enough books however to be able to disregard most of the horror stories and pay attention only to the actual useful advice.
I have also managed to convince my parents to come down in October for this joyful event, giving Yani and I plenty of time to get used to parenthood before having our parents telling us what to do and how to do it. That said, we are both aware that they have our best interest at heart!
So my feelings about this upcoming event are feelings of excitement and joy. Surprisingly I do not have any feelings at all of fear, worry or anything negative at all, which I think is great. I am also fully aware that sleeping and free time will be a thing of the past, but I will tackle that issue when it occurs.
Bottom line, I am happy and I can’t wait to meet my son!
